    I’ve found them at Kmart, Walmart, and most Dollar stores have them as well. I prefer the small, simple ones so there’s more space to see/film the birds. Also – avoid buying special nectar/mixes… using 20% – 25% cane sugar in water is the best and safest for them :-)

    They normally avoid landing on the ground or other flat surfaces – they’re just not well designed for it. Hovering, or perched in a small twig is most normal for them. However, the females do have to sit in a small nest to incubate their eggs/chicks, so they must deal with a more or less flat surface then. =)
