Hummingbird babies: Human Contact?
I was wondering, if a Human picks up a baby hummingbird will the mom notice later on and abandon the baby?
My aunt told me that animals abandon their babies once they sense human contact, which I myself am not sure if its true or not, but in this case I couldn’t avoid picking up the little bird. It fell out of its nest and was on the ground on its back struggling to get up, I picked it up and placed it back in the nest and its resting now.

Hummingbirds are fun, entertaining, full of energy and it’s easy to attract hummingbirds.

You did a great thing. The mother can’t smell a human scent on her baby, because any bird has very weak scent, not strong enough to sense that a human has touched their baby. It’s actually really good you put the baby back in, because the mom is still going to care for it, and the baby would have died without your help.
You did the right thing..no..that is just a myth, birds have a very poor sense of smell and will not abandon due to this.
