As usual they are ornery as ever. I’m trying different angles and distances to get the best focus I can with this little camera. I can’t afford a more expensive model yet so I’ll keep experimenting. We has some black-chins in this one and a brief cameo from a Rufous. Still not able to get the Broad-tail in all it’s glory.

You can hear their chirps and wings. Sorry about the back light, but this is the best angle I could use to pick up their sound

Hummingbird Flower Duet

A collection of hummingbird sequences set to “The Flower Duet” (Sous le dôme épais) from Léo Delibes’ opera Lakmé. Best view is fullscreen 480 or 720. The red trumpets were not exactly like white jasmine or rose, but they worked out well. Taken in mid-August with GoPRO HD on tripod, mode r3. Slow motion sequences were 20% for the birds and 40% for the insects. Music: www.youtube.com (Anna Netrebko and Elīna Garanca)

A Hummingbird Bird Feeder Will Help Our Friends

Natures creatures now research helps us, what better way to help to define your own power station. The Hummer is such a joy to look at that to help with a feeder will be a pleasure for you and your entire family.

A power station is a simple thing to do. Find a charger that is eye catching for you and the hummer will be also think. Many styles are available. Then choose the location where you can observe birds, and where they will have room to escape if necessary. You can buy the nectar or do it yourself.

Hummingbird Nectar is possible by combining 1/4 cup sugar and 1 cup of water. I suggest that you boil to prevent separation. Let cool. Fill your feeder and refrigerate the balance to the next. Please use white granulated sugar just like other sugars are not good for the Hummer. In the heat of the summer, please clean the loader and replace the nectar few days for the health of the birds. (Would you want food outdated or monger?)

Now that you have your fresh with nectar feeder in it, it is time to relax and allow the Hummer for you. If you are in one area that others are feed, you will not have to wait long. However, you may need to play a waiting game to see how long they are. Please be patient, as the joy will last to the expectation.

Thanks for your help with one of the smaller creatures of nature.

Listed at 9900. www.houseforsalemexico.com Please see our photo album here: www.flickr.com We created this house and nature refuge in our backyard in Fraccionamiento Corazon de Durazno in Patzcuaro, Michoacan, Mexico. The house construction was finished in October 2006 and landscaping was begun in February 2007. This video was made in July 2010. Everything you see was planted by us and it all grew to its present state in about 3.5 years. My husband terraced the lot with only a shovel and wheelbarrow. He built an upper and lower yard area with a set of steps to connect the two areas. He built the retaining walls of rocks of different sizes and he built the arbor over the stairway. Together we made the pond with cascading waterfalls, which quickly became popular with birds of all colors bathing together in the shallow areas of the falls. Although we have next door neighbors, our backyard is totally private and secluded with no other houses visible. It is a private paradise. The only thing we did not plant was one Michoacan Pine tree in the north corner of the backyard–it was there already. The plantings include angel trumpets (Brugmansia), princess tree (Tibouchina), peach trees, cedar trees, ash trees, bottlebrush trees, pink peppercorn trees, ficus trees, pine trees, cypress tree, grenadas (pomegranates) lantanas, roses, lavenders, mexican sages (Salvia leucantha), calendulas, coreopsis, cosmos, dozens of varieties of succulents, various wild salvias, scheffleras

Hundreds of hummingbirds stop here during their fall migration. I was there a week after the hummingbird festival, and the feeders were very busy. Several great viewing areas and friendly staff make it a wonderful place to visit. I could have stayed much longer…
